| RTD instituted a policy in January 2004 that service animal trainers with proper identification can ride free on all buses and light rail. Puppy raisers are encouraged to print out this memo and carry it with them when riding public transit with their dogs. Please note: the free fare applies only to the person handling the dog, not the entire family or group that may be traveling together. Puppy raising groups are asked to arrange their outings for off-peak hours; mid-day, evenings, and weekends. RTD requires prior notice to accommodate groups. | ||||
