Fangs to everyone
for their vonderful help!
from Pam Kalkus Another HPWT chili dinner has lured unsuspecting pups and persons into the promise of a good time. In honor of Northglenn and Boulder coming fully dressed in outlandish Halloween style, we have a new official costume category for next year...the "classy combo" retroactively awarded to Cruella and her companions which included captain Jack Sparrow and Marilyn. Puppy Valiant, you are lucky to have such a festive family. Many thanks to you for brightening up the room!! Danny Henderson and Carol Jonas scoured the town for fun prizes. Carol, you were also wonderful support in planning and set up. XOXO. Our fancy registration sheets, nametags, and delicious iced beverages were furnished by Liberty on Leashes. Dogs with Vision donated several tuff tug toys and Jack McPartland announced and organized the costume contest itself. Bonnie McPartland recruited the judges from Animal ER: Amy Gregory and Sara Schwartz, we value your time and keen eye. Thank you for helping us. Dogs with Vision also shared the salad/dessert responsibility with Sidekicks for Sight. All was delicious in those big orange bowls and monstrous platters...we snarfed it up....Our HPWT chili got cleaned out too. Thanks everybody for the great meal. No leftovers this year. This made cleanup easy...especially since we had lots of help from James Creasy, Andrea Loughry, Carol Jonas, Carmen Moyer along with Jane and Russell Smoak. The Smoaks also brought their fallish photo set and preserved the kodak moments we all treasure. Beth Nelson brought homemade cornbread and Janet Ford brought home grown corn stalks (which decorated our lavish entryway). Thank you to everybody who made the trip...especially those who braved rush hour traffic. HPWT so enjoyed your company--this 13th year. The only ultimately unlucky part of the evening is that we had no stage to showcase our record turnout of ultra-creative costumes. Booooo-hoo. Most, however, are captured on the website...so grab a snack and enjoy the revue. Thanks Andrea, as always, for putting this together. ![]() And we thank you, Pam, for your enormous effort and putting together yet another fabulous party for all of us! |
